GO Sleeves, the company that introduced the world’s first and only kinesiology sleeve — a compression sleeve with built-in kinesiology strips, announced today that distance running coach Scott Simmons will join the company in the role of Sport Coaching Advisor. The partnership will focus on new product development and creating awareness in the running community.
With a Master’s Degree in Sport Coaching from the United States Sport Academy, Simmons is a recognized leader and long-time coach of the American Distance Project and the US Army’s World Class Athlete Program (WCAP). Simmons has coached athletes to seven U.S. Olympic team births resulting in Olympic Silver and Bronze medals in the 5,000-meters.
Simmons-coached athletes have rewritten the U.S. record books from the mile to the marathon, with multiple athletes in the U.S. Top 10 All-time.
Simmons will contribute product ideas and inventions for development at GO Sleeves. In addition, American Distance Project athletes will share with other runners and coaches how GO Sleeves give them a competitive advantage during training and recovery.
“When I was first introduced to GO Sleeves, I assumed they were a simple compression product, but found the kinesiology component provides unique benefits I’ve never seen before. We have used GO Sleeves products to facilitate recovery from a calf injury with US 10K Olympian Shadrack Kipchirchir and US 3K Steeplechase Olympian Hillary Bor have used them to increase circulation on international flights. But mostly, our team turns to GO Sleeves for specific recovery from hard training sessions. I’m excited about the product and excited to assist in the further development of GO Sleeves technology.``
The American Distance Project (ADP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit started in 2011 with the mission to develop American distance runners to be among the best in the world. The ADP has put over 50 athletes on Team USA, including four Rio Olympians with one Olympic Silver medal in the men's 5,000m.
GO Sleeves products incorporate the same kinesiology taping technology used by doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists to support key joints, ligaments, and tendons. Built-in silicone strips trigger the body’s natural pain reduction capabilities while increasing recuperating blood flow and lymphatic drainage. Their 4-way stretch outer compression sleeves are super-lightweight, breathable, washable, and reusable. Athletes get all the benefits of a physical therapist’s tape session without the recurring cost of an office visit and/or tape applications.
